'BRIXMIS: The Evidence and Its Challenges'

For a third year this was a 2-part presentation about the Allied Military Liaison Missions to the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany and their liaison and intelligence gathering activities in the Soviet Occupation Zone and then East Germany from 1946 until the eve of German re-unification in October 1990.

The talk also focused on the challenges that the surviving evidence pose to researchers because the policy making and most highly classified activities were not recorded in the BRIXMIS Annual Reports.

The audience was drawn from MA students looking at British Intelligence issues.
